Japanese and Vintage Beads Emperor`s Grooves Collar Necklace
This original “one of a kind” beaded collar is inspired by the colors of Peruvian art. Part of the Symmetries collection by California based designer Mara Colecchia, who specializes in hand-woven jewelry, this collar is built on a vertical symmetry. Colorful yet elegant, the symmetrical structure of this necklace reminds of an ancient piece of jewelry.
The technique used for weaving this contemporary necklace is called CRAW, cubic right angle weave, and is extremely time consuming. The beaded mesh obtained with this technique is very sturdy yet flexible. The necklace is light and easy-to-wear.
Materials used include the finest Japanese glass beads size 11 and four re-purposed 16mm lucite spheres.
This is a one-of-a-kind piece and can not be reproduced.
